Meet the Speaker
On October 12, 2002, Max was with his rugby team, the Taipei Baboons, in the Sari Club when two terrorist bombs exploded killing 202 people – including five of Max’s teammates. The bombings and the aftermath led Max to quit his job and embark upon a soon to be two decades in the Asian F&B industry, creating, owning, and operating some of the region’s iconic bars. Now he has a mission to help others by talking about his experiences overcoming tragedy and building a successful business and the mistakes made along the way.
